about the illustrator
Louise Abbott
Having graduated last year with a 2:1 BA (Hons) Illustration degree from Cambridge School of Art I am now a freelance illustrator and artist. Since graduating I have been developing the way I work by completing self initiated projects. I have also carried out some commissions for Maddog Magazine.
My subject areas of interest are the observation of everyday life, especially social interactions, people in cafes and shops. I enjoy still life work and finding significance in mundane objects.
The hand drawn touch is important to my visual language, my favourite media being the combination of pen or pencil line against paint. I enjoy creating a mix of textures and colour palettes.
I am available for commission and will happily present my portfolio on request. My work is suitable for editorial use, advertising, book jackets, greetings cards, exhibitions and more.
